It has been two months since our last in-person church service. The separation from our church family has been difficult for all of us.

Even though we have not met face-to-face since Sunday, March 15th, these two months have been very productive. With the invaluable help of Brian Martinez and Daniel Cepeda, we have added our Sunday morning Online Worship Gathering. During these two months, we have also added a new website and the ability to give our tithes and offerings on-line. Our youth and young adults have stayed connected using Zoom for their Bible Studies.

As we prepare to restart our in-person services, we must take precautions to protect everyone’s health and wellbeing, especially our most vulnerable church family members - senior adults, those with chronic illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, COPD, compromised immune systems, pregnant mothers, and the very young.

We will reopen for in-person worship services on Sunday, June 14^th. For anyone who does not feel comfortable returning yet, we will livestream our Sunday morning worship gathering at 10:00 a.m. Our in-person worship gathering will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m.

We will continue to use Facebook to offer Science Explorers for children on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. and bilingual Adult Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. Our young professionals will continue their LifeGroup Bible studies via Zoom. We will not have any in-person activities on Wednesday evenings at church.

We have carefully considered recommendations and best practices from our state Baptist convention and other reliable sources for resuming in-person services.

When we return:

· Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances and in each bathroom. Please sanitize your hands when you enter and as you leave.

· We will not be shaking hands nor hugging.

· Everyone must wear a facial covering and observe social distancing.

· For the foreseeable future, our seating arrangement will be different:

o We will no longer sit around tables.

o Chairs will be set up in rows. We ask that families sit together.

o We will leave two empty chairs or six feet of space between families.

· Donuts and coffee will not be available; however, you are welcome to bring your own coffee.

· We will not be using bulletins.

· An offering plate will be available at the entrance for tithes and offerings. You may give online if you prefer.

· We will enter the church building through our main entrance and exit through the door in the pastor’s office/adult classroom. We will dismiss by families.

· If you do not feel well (fever, chills, cough, body aches) please stay home. If your condition worsens, seek medical attention. COVID-19 is real and has not gone away.

Before the COVID-19 restrictions were put in place, we had begun a process of re-visioning for the second 10 years of our church’s ministry. Rather than view what we have experienced as an interruption of our plans, I believe it to be all in God’s plan. I look forward to what the future holds for our church because we know the future is in God’s hands.

Han pasado dos meses desde nuestro último servicio religioso en persona. La separación de nuestra familia de la iglesia ha sido difícil para todos nosotros.

Aunque no nos hemos encontrado cara a cara desde el domingo 15 de marzo, estos dos meses han sido muy productivos. Con la ayuda inestimable de Brian Martinez y Daniel Cepeda, hemos agregado nuestra reunión de adoración en línea del domingo por la mañana. Nuestra reunión de adoración en línea nos ha permitido continuar adorando juntos y ha llegado a personas que de otra manera no hubiéramos alcanzado. Nuestro sitio web es ahora una realidad, así como la disponibilidad de donaciones en línea.

Mientras nos preparamos para reiniciar nuestros servicios en persona, continuaremos considerando la salud y la seguridad de todos, especialmente los miembros de la familia de la iglesia más vulnerables. Hemos considerado cuidadosamente las recomendaciones y las mejores prácticas de nuestra convención bautista estatal y otras fuentes confiables para reabrir nuestra iglesia.

Cuando regresemos:

• El desinfectante de manos estará disponible en la entrada y en cada baño.

• Donuts y café no estarán disponibles; sin embargo, puedes traer tu propio café.

• Se colocará un plato de ofrenda en la entrada para diezmos y ofrendas. Las donaciones en línea están disponibles para aquellos que prefieren dar de esta manera.

• Entraremos al edificio de la iglesia a través de nuestra entrada principal y saldremos por la puerta de la oficina del pastor / aula de adultos.

Antes de que se pusieran en práctica las restricciones de COVID-19, estábamos comenzando un proceso de revisión y relanzamiento de Olmito Community Church. En lugar de ver lo que hemos experimentado como una interrupción de nuestros planes, elegimos verlo como parte del plan de Dios. La realidad es que la iglesia como la conocemos probablemente nunca será la misma. Sin embargo, estamos entusiasmados con lo que le depara el futuro a Olmito Community Church porque sabemos que el futuro está en las manos de Dios.
